During your adoption appointment, you will be allotted 30 minutes to meet animals and 30 minutes to complete the counseling and paperwork portion of the adoption. Our Adoption Matchmakers will reach out the morning of your appointment to discuss available pets and help you decide which pet might be a good fit for your home. You will complete your adoption paperwork for your chosen pet at home before you arrive. Upon arrival, our Adoption Specialist will bring the pet out to your car, and complete payment. The appointment will last just minutes and then you’ll be off with your new furry friend! To ensure safety, all visitors entering AHS property, including buildings and parking lots, are required to wear masks at all times without exception. Dogs have “East Campus” or “Main Campus” after their names to indicate which site they are currently at.

San Diego Humane Society offers a number of programs to support pet guardians in need. You can reschedule your appointment on your own, up to one hour before your appointment. Before your appointment, please check our website to see what animals are available. Only two members of a family will be allowed in the building at a time, but family members may rotate out during the appointment. As a law-abiding canine citizen, Winston renews his license every year.
